Ingredients
- Coffee granules 3 tsp
- Roasted chopped hazelnuts 2 tbsp
- Granulated sugar 1 tbsp
Milk 300ml (½ pint)
- Single cream 2 tbsp
- Cocoa powder to serve (optional)
Directions
- Dissolve coffee granules in 1 tablespoon boiling water. Pour into a blender
- Add hazelnuts and sugar and pour in milk and cream. Blend everything together
- Pour into a pan and heat gently until hot but not boiling
- Serve in mugs and sprinkled with a little cocoa powder, if you like.

I’d say, in France, “Café Noisette” is an espresso with a splash of milk foam. That is called Cortado in Spain and Machiatto in Italy. Same coffee. Nothing to do with nuts of any sort. I understand everyone can make any recipe and call it whatever they want, but in this case it’s a bit confusing. If I go to Paris after reading your post, I’d be very disappointed not having nuts in my coffee…
